Studios, Events & Boutique
Starting with a dream to offer creative space to local business owners and artisans, 110 Myrtle has evolved in to a memorable spot to host classes, fundraisers, open studio time and events for special occasions. Home to a handful of local designers and artisans, this unique building carries the charm of the historic home and offers a truly unique experience. Located on the scenic St. Croix River, the town of Stillwater is known for its lumber milling history and it is full of inspiration! 110 Myrtle is right next to the historic Lowell Inn and is the second oldest building in Stillwater. Here are a few comments from recent guests:

A Rich History
Built in 1854, this charming yellow home is the second oldest building in downtown Stillwater. It was built by the 3rd mayor of Stillwater and is located next door to the historic Lowell Inn. In fact the doors to the boutique on our first floor were once the front doors to the famous hotel! With a cellar that could be even older than 1854, and multiple additions to the house, there is much character within and outside of the home. In 1997, Mark Balay, a local architect who is known for restoring historic homes, purchased the building and renovated it to its current state, while maintaining much of the unique character that makes this house so special. It was turned in to a commercial building and still maintains the charm and history of the original home.
This peaceful room in the middle of the building is primarily used as a gathering room and to serve food/drinks. The room holds 12-14 and includes a high-top table with seating, a serving area for food/drinks and the option for additional tables in the seating area (classes, etc.).
It is called 'The Nest' because since moving in to 110 Myrtle, Tara has always thought that the building looks like a little bird house nestled in trees up on the hill. Additionally, the owner of the building has been a tremendous mentor to her and together, built on his very gracious offer for an 'incubation' space to grow her business. Over time, the model for other artists and small businesses has taken flight and one tenant has already left the nest!
